The Goodland Township Fire Department was established in 1985. We, here at Goodland Township, are very proud of Ted Wells, retired Chief, and Don Bissett, current Chief, as well as the many volunteer firefighters that are in our service. They do wonderful work with the limited resources at their disposal.

Built in 1937, the siren was used on an army base during World War II. After the war, it was placed in one of the government's war surplus depots. When the former Attica Fire Hall was built in 1949, a board member, (Dave Rutherford) went in search of a siren and found this particular one in Toledo, Ohio. The government agreed to give the siren to Rutherford at no cost. When Attica Township built a new hall the siren was left in the old building. The old hall, along with the siren was purchased by, Matthew Wiegers, who then donated it to Goodland Township. The siren now stands as pictured and is used in emergency storm situations.
